Dentinox® N teething gel

Information

Teething without the pain.

The little milk teeth are already formed in the womb. When the baby is born, they are slumbering in the little jaw and waiting to erupt. In the middle of the first year of life, somewhere between the sixth and eighth month, the first tips of the teeth start to appear. As do potential complaints.

In this respect, these take completely different courses. Many babies are easily irritable, fretful, sleep poorly and don’t want to eat. Sensitive gums are the most common reason for this. The gums are reddened, inflamed and cause pain. The tried and tested wound-healing aid to teething alleviates this phase of development.

Alongside anti-inflammatory chamomile tincture, Dentinox® N gel has active ingredients that bring about local pain relief at a dosage suitable for children. The gel’s good strong adhesion enables it to work locally exactly where the little tooth is causing problems as it erupts.

Areas of application:
Traditionally used as a mild medicine to briefly alleviate the complaints associated with teething for the first time. Contains propylene glycol and sorbitol.
For risks and side effects, please read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Active ingredients

Chamomile, a member of the composite family of plants, is one of the most popular and most commonly used medicinal plants in natural medicine. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and healing properties, it is commonly used for skin and mucous membrane disorders. Dentinox N teething gel contains 15% tincture of chamomile blossoms and thus exploits the anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties of chamomile as its most important active ingredient.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is a locally acting, pain-relieving active ingredient. It provides relief for acute pain and acts quickly, but for a short period of time, which brings about immediate alleviation of the teething complaints. The very small amount (0.34%) contained in Dentinox N gel means the dosage is suitable for babies but nevertheless achieves the desired effect.

Macrogol lauryl ether is another locally acting, pain-relieving active ingredient. Its pain-relieving effect sets in more slowly but lasts longer. This achieves mild but effective pain relief that lasts a long time. Once again, the very small amount (0.32%) of this active ingredient contained in Dentinox N gel means the dosage is suitable for babies.

In terms of taste, xylitol is very similar to household sugar and has virtually the same sweetness. When eaten, it brings about a cooling effect in the mouth as warmth is removed from its surroundings when it comes into contact with saliva. Various varieties of fruit and vegetables act as natural sources of xylitol, but it also occurs in larger quantities in birch bark. The caries-inhibiting effect of xylitol was discovered in the 1970s. It was proven to bring about a significant reduction in caries, also known as tooth decay or cavities. In addition, xylitol stimulates saliva production and promotes remineralisation of the substance of the teeth.
